How we review software

Every guide on this site follows the same comparison process: public specs, current pricing, published policies and reviews we can verify, not marketing copy or a vendor's own claims.

Read the full method
  1. We compare official specs and pricing. Figures come from each vendor's own documentation and current price pages, not press releases.
  2. We read the policy before the feature list. Privacy policies, audit reports and terms of service are read in full; a long feature list doesn't excuse a bad one.
  3. We weigh reviews we can verify. Store reviews and forum threads count for more when they're recent, specific and clearly genuine.
  4. We ask the same questions every time. Each criterion has a written definition, and every guide ends with a plain verdict that says who a product suits and why.
  5. We keep every guide updated. Prices, plans and policies change, and each guide carries the date it was last checked.
