The rules for using this site. They're short, and most of them say what you'd expect: our guides inform, vendors sell, and prices change.
Who we are
SoftwarePivot (softwarepivot.com) is operated by CTAWeb Srls, Via Castelluccio 3, 81030 Falciano del Massico (CE), Italy, VAT number IT04201890615, REA CE-307422, email info@softwarepivot.com. In these terms "we" and "us" mean CTAWeb Srls, and "you" means anyone who visits the site.
By using the site you accept these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use it. Reading SoftwarePivot is free and needs no account.
What the site is, and what it isn't
SoftwarePivot publishes general information about consumer software: explanations, comparisons, verdicts and how-to guides. It is written for a general audience and doesn't take your circumstances into account.
Nothing on the site is professional advice, whether technical, security, legal or financial. Our guides are a starting point for your own decision. If the stakes are high, for example protecting a business network, handling data you are legally responsible for, or recovering files you can't afford to lose, talk to a qualified professional or to the vendor's support team before acting. Always keep your own backups before following any guide that changes your system.
Our verdicts are opinions based on the published evidence we describe on the about page. They are not lab results and not a guarantee that a product will perform the same way for you.
Prices, features and availability change
Software vendors change prices, plans, features and policies often, sometimes without notice. The prices we quote are the ones we found on the date shown on each guide, usually in US dollars and before tax. What you're offered may differ depending on your country, currency, taxes, the vendor's current promotion and whether a price is introductory or a renewal. A product we describe may stop being available in your region.
We work to keep the guides current, but we can't guarantee that every detail is up to date at the moment you read it. Always check the price, the renewal terms and the cancellation policy on the vendor's own website before you buy.
Third-party products and websites
We don't make or sell any of the products we write about. When you buy or download software after reading a guide, your contract is with the vendor, on the vendor's terms, and the vendor alone is responsible for the product, its security, its billing, its refunds and its support.
We give no warranty, express or implied, about any third-party product or service mentioned on the site. Links to other websites are provided for your convenience; we don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, their offers or how they handle your data.
Product names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners. Mentioning them doesn't imply that the owner endorses SoftwarePivot, or that we endorse the owner.
Affiliate links and partner offers
Some links on the site are affiliate links, and some pages may promote a specific partner's offer. We may earn a commission when you use them. How this works, and how these links and pages are marked, is explained in our affiliate disclosure.
Using our content
The text, tables, illustrations, logo and design of SoftwarePivot belong to CTAWeb Srls or are used under license. You may read, print and share pages for your own non-commercial use, and quote short extracts with a link back to the original page.
Without our written permission you may not republish whole guides or substantial parts of them, present our content as your own, or copy the site in bulk by automated means, including scraping or crawling it to build datasets or train software models. Ordinary search engine indexing is welcome.
Acceptable use
Please don't try to break the site. In particular, don't attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers, probe them for vulnerabilities without our permission, overload them, or use the site to distribute malware or spam. If you find a security problem, tell us at info@softwarepivot.com and we'll look at it promptly.
No warranty about the site
We put care into accuracy, but the site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't guarantee that it will be error-free, complete, current or always online.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from relying on its content, including decisions to buy, install, configure or cancel third-party software.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that can't be limited or excluded by law, including liability for fraud, willful misconduct or gross negligence (Article 1229 of the Italian Civil Code), and nothing in them takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add new features to the site. The date at the top shows the latest version, and the version published here is the one that applies to your visit.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute will be handled by the courts that have jurisdiction over the place where CTAWeb Srls has its registered office. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and the right to go to the courts there. Before going to court, please write to us: most problems can be sorted out with an email.
